Small Group Life at White Rock Baptist

What is a Small Group?
It's a group of people who meet on a regular basis for a common purpose and are led by an identified leader who is assisting them in their progress toward full devotion to Christ by intentionally providing an environment for connection, community, and spiritual formation.
Why should I be part of a Small Group?
God designed us to live in community. We are asked to love one another, accept one another, serve one another, teach one another, encourage one another, pray for one another and to bear one another’s burdens.  In a small group we can experience this kind of friendship as we journey together towards our goal of knowing Jesus Christ more deeply.
What happens at a Small Group meeting?
We read the Bible and discuss its mysteries.  We learn more about God through discussion, study, worship and prayer.  We often have food together and talk about our lives and learn how we can support and serve each other and our larger community.
When and where are the groups meeting?
At least every 2 weeks but some groups meet weekly.  Most groups meet in homes although some meet at the church.
There are groups meeting most nights of the week and some in the day as well.
How "big" is a Small Group?
Usually 6 to 12 people.
What are the groups studying?
Some groups are following the current sermon series while others are doing topical studies or a book of the Bible.
Resources are supplied by the small groups ministry team to fit with the group’s desires for growth.
What kind of commitment do I need to belong to a small group?
We believe making your small group one of your priorities will allow you to experience the richness that it can bring to you but we also realize that “things happen” and you might miss a meeting along the way.  Hurry back because you will be missed!

What if I don’t like my small group?
We hope that you will give yourself time to adjust to new friends but if it is “just not working” the coordinators will help you find another group.

How do I get connected?
Contact the church office (604-531-2344) and let them know you are interested.  They will forward your name to the coordinators who will contact you.
Enjoy!
