The Great Canadian Bible Study
The Great Canadian Bible Study was developed
by Women in Focus of the BUWC. It is entitled
Sisters of Lazarus, Friends of Jesus and looks at
one particular event in the lives of Martha and
Mary, the death of their brother, Lazarus. It
considers their grief and the manner in which
Jesus came and ministered to them in the
midst of that painful time. Through the
scripture passages and questions provided,
it is our desire that Jesus will also come to you
and will meet you in a very specific and
individual way according to your needs and
desires.
There are a number of Bible Study groups
within our church attended by women of all
ages. The leaders of these groups have been
contacted with an invitation to conduct this
Bible study during the last week of January on
the day they normally meet. To accommodate
those groups who do not wish to interrupt their
program, this Bible study will also be conducted
on Saturday, January 21, 2006 as a one-time
event. Invitations to register have been sent
out. The objective is that all participants
contribute one Toonie ($2.00) which will be
forwarded to The Sharing Way's Guardians of
Hope program. Monies collected can be handed
in at the church office. The total amount
collected will be submitted by cheque to the
treasurer of Women in Focus of the BUWC.
We're hoping that many women will feel led to
participate. Printed copies of the Great
Canadian Bible Study will be made available for
pick-up at the church office.

Quotable
Quote
In a recent interview Rick Warren, author of
The Purpose Driven Life stated, "We were made
to have meaning. Without God, life has no
purpose, and without purpose, life has no
meaning. The greatest tragedy is not death,
but life without purpose. So many live life
trying to create a lasting legacy here. They
want to be remembered when they're gone.
But what ultimately matters most will not be
what others say about your life but what God
says. We weren't put on earth to be
remembered. We were put here to prepare for
eternity."

PRAYER
AND WORSHIP
A new prayer group was formed to pray
specifically for the needs of women. We have
been meeting biweekly on alternate Wednesday
mornings from 11 - 12 o'clock in the boardroom
at the church. Our aim is to pray for all WRBC
Women's Ministries leaders, their group
members, and any woman within our
congregation who has a specific prayer request.
It is our hope that a representative of each of
the existing women's ministries in our church will
contact us before our prayer meeting to advise
us of specific prayer requests.
Jesus said, "For where two or three come
together in my name, there am I with them."
Matthew 18:20.
We would also like to visit each women's ministry
group in order to introduce ourselves and to let
them know that we are available to pray for
them. So far we have visited with the
Tuesday@1 group, the Moms group on
Wednesday mornings as well as the Friday
morning ladies Bible study. It has been a blessing
to get to know the different groups and their
members better. Thank you for allowing us to
join your group in order to get acquainted. We
are hoping to visit more of the groups in the New
Year.

Announcement:
We regret that Celeste will no longer be
continuing on our Team as she and her family
have moved out of the area. We appreciated her
passion for prayer and will miss her ministry. We
are currently praying that the Lord will lay it on
somebody's heart to join our Team and to take
up this vital mission.

Dancing
With God
When I meditated on the word GUIDANCE, I kept seeing "dance"
at the end of the word. I
remember reading that doing God's will is a lot
like dancing. When two people try to lead,
nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music, and
everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the
other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the
music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a
nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one
direction or another. It's as if two become one
body, moving beautifully. The dance takes
surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from
one person and gentle guidance and skill from
the other.
My eyes drew back to the word GUIDANCE. When I saw "G",
I thought of God, followed by "u" and
"i" dance." God, you, and I dance. As I lowered
my head, I became willing to trust that I would
get guidance about my life. Once again, I
became willing to let God lead.
